Will vote for Soteras

Just the other day I received a mailer regarding the Oak Creek development from Agoura Hills City Council candidate Alex Soteras. I found the information to be eye-opening and very informative. On the front cover there was an appraisal of 5.5 acres of city-owned property for $550,000, dated in 1997.

That same piece of property was sold five years later with a higher density to the Oak Creek developer for the same $550,000.

It is sad to know that our current council is making these kinds of poor business decisions. This property was probably worth in excess of $2 million in 2002 if you include the higher-density zoning.

These precious dollars could have gone toward a number of things such as our schools, senior housing, acquisition of open space or a children’s activity center.

I think Alex Soteras is right—the facts are the facts. Soteras would have never voted for this project. On Nov. 4 Alex Soteras has my vote.
