Klessig, Bruno best for Westlake

Westlake Village is known throughout the entire United States as a wonderful and enviable place to live. The quality of life in Westlake Village is due not only to careful planning by its founders, but also to the community involvement and caring of its residents and city leaders. We moved to Westlake Village 25 years ago because of this quality of life and the reputation of the Las Virgenes School District. I have been very involved in the community during this time and have had the honor and pleasure to serve on the city council for the past eight years. I am not running for reelection, but obviously I do have a great interest in the future of our city and its residents.

We have an important election occurring on Nov. 4. Neither incumbent is running for city council. The candidates are not known to the majority of voters in Westlake Village. The right and obligation of each of the residents of the city of Westlake Village is to get to know, personally, each of the candidates, so that we will be able to make the best choice. It is not enough to rely on what the candidates say or what printed material they mail to us. I have listened to and become familiar with the candidates.

My choices for city council are Philippa Klessig and Jim Bruno. Philippa is a parent and businesswoman. She is known as a problem solver and has a history of concern for and involvement with our city. Jim is a man of great integrity and has experience working with city planning issues. Neither candidate has a set agenda but concern for the betterment of Westlake Village. Together they will make a wonderful and positive addition to the city council.

Please join me in voting for Philippa Klessig and Jim Bruno on Nov. 4.
