Just say no to Kuperberg The silence is deafening. We haven’t heard one word from the city council, Kuperberg, Rishoff, etc. about the fact they sold acres of city land to the developer of Oak Creek for an under-market price, using an antiquated, out-of-date appraisal that was over five years old! Then they increased the value of the land by changing the zoning of the land to high-density residential occupancy. No explanation. No response. No comment. Just silence. Nov. 4 is turning out to be more than just an election. It’s becoming a vote of no confidence, a citizens’ referendum on the decision-making abilities of our elected officials. The times have changed. Our new governor showed that in his landslide victory over an entrenched political machine that had doled out special favors and grown out of touch with its electorate. Perhaps it is time to clean house at city hall and start fresh new eyes and new perspectives. We have excellent candidates running that can provide us a new beginning. I urge everyone to vote on Nov. 4 and make your vote count. Larry Mouchwar Agoura Hills |
