Methodist women to host holiday boutique

Methodist women to host holiday boutique

Handcrafted items, baked goods, Christmas specialties and gifts for teachers and babies will be for sale at the annual Holiday Boutique sponsored by Women’s Ministries of the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 1 in Alton Hall at the church, 1049 Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

A soup and pie lunch will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A special attraction of the boutique will be an Alternative Christmas Gift Market with the theme of "Give the World a Gift."

Shoppers seeking to honor friends and families with gifts that will benefit children, youth and adults both locally and abroad can choose from five projects: the Church World Service Blanket Program ($5); Heifer Project International (gift prices range from $1 to $500); United Methodist Committee on Relief’s childhood immunization program ($5); Habitat for Humanity (building supplies may be purchased); Meals-on-Wheels, that serves shut-ins throughout the Conejo Valley and Westlake Village ($7). Shoppers who make contributions receive cards with inserts describing the selected charity to advise their friends of donations made in their names.

The public is invited to participate in the event.
