Westlake celebrates big this weekend

The city of Westlake Village has planned a day of family fun during the "Westlake Village City Celebration Fun Fair" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at the civic center, 31200 Oak Crest Drive.

The White Oak Elementary PFC is sponsoring five different inflatable activities, a rock climbing wall and six carnival booths.

The fees for these activities range from 50 cents to $5.

The Westlake Village Art Guild will display the work of local artists as well as sponsor a free children’s art workshop.

The Westlake Village Library and the Friends of the Library will host a used book sale, library wheel of fortune, a story teller and a magician.

The "Reptile Family" will put on a reptile show and have a reptile booth.

The L.A. County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department will participate with displays and New West Symphony will bring its Music Van. A wide variety of entertainment will be happening throughout the day on the center stage.

The city celebration food court will feature a barbecue by Boy Scout Troop No. 775 and a beverage tent sponsored by the White Oak Elementary PFC.

The Fun Fair is part of a daylong city celebration that will include a pancake breakfast at Berniece Bennett Park and a family parade, beginning at Berniece Bennett Park and concluding at the civic center.

At 7 p.m., an ensemble from New West Symphony will present a free concert.
