Last of traffic calming workshops scheduled in Calabasas The city of Calabasas will conduct its last traffic-calming workshop in a series of six to address vehicle congestion on city streets. The public forum will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tues., Oct. 28 at Calabasas City Hall, 26135 Mureau Road. Each traffic-calming workshop has focused on seven of 12 separate regions in the city, this last being Region 3, otherwise known as the Saratoga Hills community. Gated or open space areas have been exempt from the workshops, according to Calabasas traffic and transportation manager Robert Yalda. "In the months to follow, city staff will compile the input from all six workshops into one citywide traffic calming report to be presented to traffic and transportation commission for review and to evaluate recommendations for potential installation," said Calabasas assistant transportation planner Tom Gdala. City staff recommends that residents who missed previous traffic-calming workshops to attend the upcoming forum and voice their opinions and concerns. Citizens can also write to: Traffic Calming, Calabasas City Hall, 26135 Mureau Road, Calabasas, CA 91302. For more information, call Gdala at (818) 878-4242, ext. 251. --Michael Picarella |
