Conejo Valley Days seeks theme ideas for this year’s event

The theme contest for the 2004 Conejo Valley Days (CVD) festival is still accepting entries.

Last year more than 130 themes were entered into this annual contest. The winner, selected by the CVD committee, will have the opportunity to ride on a float in the CVD parade and have $100 contributed to the winner’s charity of choice. The contest is the first in a series of community-oriented events and contests that culminates in a five-day festival.

The CVD festival will be held April 28 through May 2. CVD will officially begin in March with a kick-off picnic and car show, tiny tots pageant and the announcement of the CVD grand marshal candidates. Other CVD events include a chili cook-off, children’s parade and medallion hunt.

The deadline for submitting theme ideas is Oct. 30. Submissions are accepted by mail: Conejo Valley Days, P.O. Box 4589, Thousand Oaks, CA 91359, or by e-mail: info@conejovalleydays.com. Please include your telephone number with all submissions.
