Edelston is fresh air for Agoura Hills Edelston is fresh air for Agoura Hills Fore a number of weeks I have been observing and learning all that I can about the candidates for the Agoura Hills City Council. With only two seats open for election on Nov. 4, our votes are very important to the future of our city. Although I am sure that each candidate has the best interest of our city at heart, I find that John Edelston is the only candidate among those running who seems to have a platform that balances the need for slow growth and protection of our environment and lifestyles, while also recognizing the realities of the need for carefully planned growth and income that comes from thoughtful business development. For too long, many of us have seen desirable businesses, retail stores, upscale restaurants and needed entertainment destinations opt to locate in Westlake or Calabasas, bypassing Agoura Hills. For too long the needed improvements to our streets, intersections, parks and recreational facilities have been delayed unnecessarily. And for too long our city council has failed to include the citizens in the decision process or even adequately communicate with us. I love Agoura Hills and want to see it protected and nurtured. I have decided to throw my full support behind Edelston because he has publicly taken positions that share my concerns and because his thoughtful, moderate positions on issues affecting our community make sense to me. A no-nonsense businessman without a narrow and hidden political agenda, I find John Edelston a refreshing breath of fresh air for Agoura Hills. Marty Spiegel Agoura Hills |
