Chargers, Eagles, Lions remain unbeaten in football

The Agoura football team defeated Rio Mesa, 25-0, a week ago, scoring one touchdown in each quarter, as senior quarterback Bryan Walker threw three touchdown passes and senior running back Kyle Heath ran for another TD.
The Chargers improved to 3-0 on the season as Walker passed for 212 yards on 10-20 passing. A week earlier Walker had gone 11 of 11 for 209 yards in a win over Camarillo. In the more recent win against Rio Mesa, senior wide receiver Braden Lepisto had 77 receiving yards on three receptions, while junior wide receiver Mark Lawrence had four catches for 44 yards and senior wide receiver Matt Schmidt had one for 56 yards. Agoura is at Royal in the league opener tomorrow night.
The Oak Park football team also stayed unbeaten, at 3-0, when it defeated Mojave, on the road, 41-14, behind the strength of four TD passes from senior QB Nolan McNair. The Eagles should maintain its no. 3 ranking in Division XI.
McNair threw for 154 yards on 6 of 9 passing vs. Mojave. Four of the completions were for TDs. Junior WR Gavin Ketchum had four receptions for 106 yards including three for TDs. Senior RB Anthony Monteleone rushed for 66 yards on six carries, one for a TD. McNair led Oak Park with 69 yards running of 10 carries. Also scoring TDs for the Eagles were senior TE Casey Webb and senior RB Mike Christensen. Oak Park hosts Rosamond tomorrow night at 7:30.
The Oaks Christian football team is also 3-0 after week 3 after registering a 28-0 win over host Canoga Park last Thursday. The Lions scored one TD in each quarter vs. Canoga Park. Junior RB Aaron Ware ran for 118 yards on 17 carries and scored one rushing TD.
Junior QB Joey Halzle passed for 165 yards on 12-25 passing. Freshman QB Jimmy Clausen passed for 80 yards on 5 of 8 passing. Junior WR Mark Richardson had six receptions for 96 yards. Junior WR Joe Giuliani caught five for 68 yards, Marc Tyler, a freshman RB, ran for 64 yards on seven carries with one TD and freshmen RB Marshall Jones had two rushing TDs. Oaks Christian hosts Santa Paula tomorrow night.
The Newbury Park football team improved to 2-1 on the season when it defeated Buena, 34-26, last Thursday night in Newbury Park. Panther head coach George Hurley notched his 100-career win in his 15th season as head coach.
Junior QB Jordan LaSecla passed for 262 yards on 17 of 36 passing, including a 65-yard TD pass to junior WR Luis Sanoja on the first play 17 seconds into the game, and later a 30-yard TD pass to senior WR Bryce Winter. The Panthers open up league tomorrow vs. Simi Valley at home.
The Thousand Oaks football team chalked up its first victory of the season, and is 1-2, when it beat Camarillo, 35-33, in Camarillo last Thursday. Senior lineman Jesse Border scored two TDs on fumblerooskies to help bolster the win.
Junior RB Jack Boger rushed for 78 yards on 22 carries. The Lancers didn’t commit a turnover, a vast improvement after eight turnovers in two losses. Thousand Oaks, which led 14-7 at halftime, opens the Marmonte League season at Westlake tomorrow night.
The Calabasas football team, now 0-3, was defeated by Nordhoff, 61-14, in a game played in Ojai last Thursday night. The Coyotes senior QB Keith Barrett passed for 280 yards on 13 of 22 passing in the loss. Senior WR Damon Rodriquez and junior RB Alex Henderson caught TD passes from Barrett of 67 and 78 yards, respectively. Calabasas opens its league season at Moorpark tomorrow night.
The Moorpark football team, now 2-1, lost a heartbreaker at Hueneme, 22-17, last Friday night. The Musketeers played without standout senior RB Anthony Lopez, who was out with a hip flexor injury but should be back this week
Junior RB Andy Moger ran for 75 yards on 17 carries. Senior QB Cody Holland threw for 173 yards on 11 of 23 passing, junior WR Chastin West had five receptions for 80 yards and senior wide receiver JR Jeffrey caught four passes for 65 yards and one TD. Moorpark hosts Calabasas in the league opener tomorrow night.
