Likes Soteras

Being blessed with having four children and eight grandchildren living in Agoura Hills, I felt it appropriate to write about why I endorse Alex Soteras for Agoura Hills City Council.

Alex has always been against developing Ahmanson Ranch even though on many occasions Ahmanson came to Alex, as the president of the Agoura Hills Chamber of Commerce, and pleaded for his support. On all occasions Alex Soteras turned them away. The Agoura Hills chamber was the only local chamber that did not support the Ahmanson Ranch development.

I was disappointed to learn that the Agoura Hills City Council approved the Oak Creek development at Kanan and the 101 Freeway.

My grandchildren that attend schools in Agoura Hills are already burdened with overcrowded classrooms and large budget cuts from the state. The school district estimates that 554 new students will attend local schools due to this project. This is not something that Alex Soteras would have voted in favor of.

Alex understands the constraints that have already been put on the school district. He even stepped up and helped raise over $1 million for the Las Virgenes Education Foundation. And now we learn that the council will stuff another 554 students into the schools.

I have urged my family and friends in Agoura Hills to vote for Alex Soteras on Nov. 4. As parents and grandparents, you can make a difference.
