Husband and wife pastor team honored by seminary

Husband and wife team, the Rev. Margaret (Peg) Schultz-Akerson and the Rev. Reginald (Reg) Schultz-Akerson, were presented the President’s Award by Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) during their Founder’s Day event on Sept. 24.

The Rev. Reg Schultz-Akerson serves as assistant to the president for Church Relations at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. He’s been a member of the ELCA World Hunger Appeal Taskforce, a member of the ELCA Shalom Teams and vice president of the Westside Interfaith Council.

The Schultz-Akersons received their master of divinity degrees from PLTS in 1980 and have maintained close connections to the seminary in appreciation of its contributions to the ELCA. The couple served as co-pastors of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in their hometown of Santa Monica for several years. Peg Schultz-Akerson currently serves as pastor at Messiah Lutheran Church in Pasadena.
