Elderly man killed in accident

Jason Ely Hammer, 81, of Oak Park was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Los Robles Regional Medical Center following a traffic accident at 5:25 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 26.

Brant Walker, 29, of Oak Park was traveling north on Lindero Canyon Road and Hammer was exiting the Oak Park Shopping Center westbound onto Lindero Canyon. As Hammer was crossing the northbound lanes of Lindero Canyon, his vehicle was struck broadside by Walker’s.

Hammer and his wife, Norma, 77, and Walker were taken to the hospital. Norma Hammer was in serious condition with internal injuries. Walker was treated for moderate injuries and released.

The crash was still under investigation, but drugs or alcohol didn’t appear to be involved.
