Art auction in Pasadena benefits museum

A recent work by Chinese-American artist Eileen "Ai-lin" Chang of Westlake Village will be auctioned on Sat., Oct. 4 during the Pacific Asia Museum’s Festival of the Autumn Moon, a fundraising event that will begin 5:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Conference Center, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena.

The 26th annual Festival is the museum’s most important fundraiser. Proceeds from the live and silent auctions will support the museum’s mission of furthering cultural understanding through the arts.

Chang, a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, practiced law earlier in her career before pursuing her interest in assemblage art. Her work features mixed media—fiber, wood, metal, stone and glass and found objects, layered and juxtaposed, creating three dimensional textural pieces. In the tradition of ancient Chinese painters who composed poetry next to their brushwork, Chang composes "a poem of love, inspiration and reflection" for each of her works.

Tickets to the event are $200 and may be reserved by calling (626) 449-4742, ext. 12. For more information on the museum, please visit the Internet Website at www.pacificasiamuseum.org.
