Pierce teaches how to start a home business

Los Angeles Pierce College Extension is offering a workshop to provide the basics in starting a home-based business. The course is designed to help individuals create a business environment that works for them. Topics will include: learning how to select the right business dealing with licenses, permits, zoning laws; and becoming aware of the legal requirements as well as how to write a valid business plan.

Instructor Helene K. Liatsos is president of Home Office Management Experts, a consulting firm for home-based and small businesses.

"Start Your Own Home-Based Business" will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 4 on the college campus at 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills. The fee is $49 plus a $7 material fee.
