Donations help support AYSO

American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Region 9 Dream of Fields chairman Ed Rigsbee recently announced AYSO opening day donations received from local businesses and organizations to the Dreams of Fields campaign.

The campaign’s goal is to gather a total of $1 million, to be Region 9’s contribution to the Conejo Creek South playfields master plan to build new soccer fields, recondition current fields and add restrooms with plumbing.

Donors included the following: Conejo Valley United Soccer Club, $1,500; Big Five Sporting Goods, Thousand Oaks store, $768; Trader Joe’s, Westlake Village, $270; Northrop Grumman (matching funds), $200; and Pro Fitness Martial Arts, $150.

Region 9’s strategy to gather and earn the $1 million includes fundraising activities, corporate giving through matching funds programs, donations from individuals concerned about youth development and corporate and foundation grants.
