Ventura Harvest Festival to offer crafts, gifts, more

The Ventura Harvest Festival will be at Seaside Park in the city of Ventura from Fri., Oct. 3 through Sun., Oct. 5. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The festival features a large selection of fine artisans displaying their crafts, with more than 17,000 unique handmade products available for purchases as gifts to give and for home decorating projects and home décor accents. In addition to the many crafters, artists and designers, the Festival also features live entertainment and many delectable foods and snacks.

Local and nationally-based artisans will displays their wares for sale. Among the wide variety of items will be enormous gourds carved into delightful caricatures, pottery and sculpture, ornaments, custom lamp shades, hand-sewn quilts and blankets.

This year the Harvest Festival has designated Ventura FOODShare as its beneficiary, as that organization strives to build a solid base of food supplies for people who may be hungry during the rapidly-approaching holiday season.

Festival guests are encouraged to bring a canned food item and will receive a discount on general admission.

Also, those traveling to the Harvest Festival aboard Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner can bring a friend along for free.
