Oak Park library group seeks volunteers

The Community Foundation for Oak Park is renewing the Friends of the Oak Park Library (a committee of the Foundation), to provide volunteers for the new Oak Park Library, set to open this fall. The Oak Park Library is a public and school library, jointly operated by Ventura County and the Oak Park Unified School District. It is located adjacent to Oak Park High School on Kanan Road.

Now that the library is opening, Friends of the Oak Park Library is seeking volunteers to provide assistance to Oak Park Librarian Elaine Breen and staff.

Library volunteers may assist by conducting book sales to help fund library activities; organizing and conducting special events; hosting "reading nights" with guest writers and others; conducting computer training; managing the exhibit case; and procuring photos of Oak Park for display in the library. Volunteer assistance will likely be needed during day and evening hours.

Tax-deductible donations to support Friends of the Oak Park Library may be made payable to the Community Foundation for Oak Park and sent to the Foundation at P.O. Box 291, Agoura Hills, CA 91376-0291.
