Calabasas loses football opener

The Calabasas football team, under first-year head coach Ken Papotta, lost its season opener vs. El Camino Real, 43-0, in a game played at home in Calabasas last Friday night.

The Coyotes fell behind, 14-0, in the first quarter and never recovered. There were bright spots, however. Quarterback Keith Barrett completed 12 of 23 passes, and running back Obi Ikemefuna ran for 82 yards on seven carries.

Tomorrow night, Calabasas hosts Oak Park in a local non-league matchup.
