The letter by Keith F. Cornell is the type of subjective, Bush-hating diatribe usually found in the L.A. Times. Get your facts straight, Keith. Cheney divested himself of Halliburton stock and donated most of his "Golden Parachute" to charity. The Bush family made their money in independent oil, not like the Gore family holdings in Occidental oil. As far as deficits go, California doesn’t have the burden of a major war or security costs of the federal government. And by the way, Keith, the economy was on the rise for three quarters prior to Bill Clinton taking office and was on the decline for the last two quarters he was in office. You cynically state, "They are in it to make money." Bush, Cheney, Arnold, etc. may be on an ego trip, but in it for the money, they are not. Bob Keegan Agoura Hills |
