Chabad to host tribute to 9-11 victims

Chabad of the Conejo will host a special memorial dinner in tribute to the victims and heroes of Sept. 11 at 9:30 p.m. this Sat., Sept. 20 at the Renaissance Hotel, Agoura Hills. According to Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski, regional director of Chabad, the date was chosen because it coincides with the Hebrew date of Sept. 11.

The keynote speaker will be Rabbi Chaim Mentz, director of Chabad of Bel Air and radio host of "The Rabbi Mentz Show." He is noted for his "dynamic and thoughtful" presentations. Rabbi David Lamm will provide music, and a video will be shown.

A catered dairy dinner with espresso bar will be served. Cost is $18 and reservations are required and may be made by calling (818) 991-0991.

At midnight following the dinner, Chabad will host the special Selichot service that precedes Rosh Hashonah. Admission to the service is free.
