The best bunch of nuts we’ve ever had

The best bunch of nuts we’ve ever had

For three reasons, these are exciting times at The Acorn Newspapers.

First, we just started a new Acorn for Moorpark. It debuted last Friday and will be distributed weekly to 11,000 homes and businesses in Moorpark, a growing city that’s north of Thousand Oaks and west of Simi Valley. Steve Carlson, the editor, is full of enthusiasm, and we’re optimistic about the future of the Moorpark Acorn.

Second, the Thousand Oaks Acorn has a new editor. John Loesing, an award-winning writer from this publication, will help make the Thousand Oaks Acorn a stronger newspaper.

Third, we’ve assembled the best staff we’ve ever had.

Our full-time writer/reporters and photographers are a talented team of professionals.

Our copy editors are extraordinary and efficient.

We have a production crew that’s committed to excellence. They care about what they do, and it shows.

Our advertising sales team is friendly, thoroughly professional and deep in experience.

Our classified, legal advertising and bookkeeping departments have dedicated people who genuinely care about our customers.

The publisher and general manager, Jim and Lisa Rule, deserve a "thank you" for putting this outstanding team together.

We want to make The Acorn Newspapers the best we possibly can. If you have any suggestions, please call Steve Holt at (818) 706-0266.

A quick reminder: "Take Your Acorn on Vacation" photographs are due in our office by 5 p.m. next Fri., Sept. 26. Pictures received after that will go into a folder for 2004/2005.
