Several teams ranked in football

In the preseason California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section Top 10 football polls, Oaks Christian of Westlake Village is ranked first in Division XI, but it will be no cakewalk for the Lions. In the Tri-Valley League, two other teams—including Oak Park—are ranked in the top four.

Carpinteria, 14-0 and a CIF champion last year, is ranked third and the Eagles of Oak Park, 6-6 last year, are ranked fourth. OCHS and OPHS face off in the regular season finale at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Nov. 14 at Oaks Christian High School. Mark your calendars.

Westlake is ranked second in Division IV, below top-ranked St. Bonaventure which beat the Warriors in the CIF finals last year, 40-14. St. Bonaventure of the Channel League finished 13-1 last year. Westlake of the Marmonte League went 11-3.
