CHS offers frosh-soph program ‘Making High School Count’

Calabasas High School will present the "Making High School Count" program for its freshman and sophomore classes at 9:15 a.m. Wed., Sept. 17 (for freshman students and their parents) and at 10:10 a.m. Thurs., Sept. 18 (for sophomore students and their parents) in the school theater, 22855 W. Mulholland Hwy., Calabasas. The one-hour assembly-style presentation is free.

The program is designed to help students understand the importance of high school and what they need to accomplish to maximize their opportunities upon graduation. The program will also address transitional issues such as time management and study skills.

"Entry into high school and college are key transition periods in a student’s academic career," said Patrick S. O’Brien, founder of the program which is presented in high schools nationwide. "Our goal is to provide and reinforce positive messages counselors and teachers are giving to their students during these crucial times and help students understand that anyone can be successful if they choose to be."
