They like Dean

We are feeling hopeful and enthusiastic about our nation’s future for the first time in a long time.

Last night, we attended our first meeting in Thousand Oaks of a rapidly growing and solid grassroots movement to take this country back from the brink of moral, political and economic disaster, and there were about 40 people in attendance.

The "Dean For America" campaign represents a positive vision for our country. A Howard Dean presidency will:

•Restore all the environmental protection standards which the Bush administration has deliberately rolled back.

•Insure that educational accountability be returned to local communities and abolish the empty political rhetoric of the "leave no child behind" policy, which has bankrupted the states with unfunded mandates.

•Insure that our government guarantees affordable health insurance for all working families and for those not currently eligible.

•Reverse Bush’s irresponsible fiscal policy which has knowingly produced the largest deficit in American history while rewarding the richest 1 percent of the

population.

•Protect a woman’s right to reproductive choice.
