Council blew it on Oak Creek

As I speak to many of the residents of our community, an overwhelming majority believed that the Oak Creek development going up at Kanan and the 101 Freeway would be a Promenade-like shopping center called the Riverwalk.

Wrong.

This project has 400 apartment units and will bring about 1,500 new residents to our community and more than 500 new students to our school

district.

My two children attend school in the Las Virgenes Unified School District and they have 36 kids in their classroom. Where are we going to put everyone?

Unfortunately, while the fight against Home Depot was going on, the city council pulled a back-door move on the residents of our community and approved this mess.

This project should never have been approved. Our schools are having a hard enough time as it is with the state budget cuts and now we have to find room for 500 more students.

And where are we going to put all the traffic? The council should be

ashamed of themselves.
