Kol Tikvah Temple to host open house

Jewish families, interfaith couples and singles seeking affiliation with a reform temple will have an opportunity to meet the clergy and professional staff of Temple Kol Tikvah at their Sabbath Lights open houses for prospective members on Fridays, Sept. 12 and 19, at 20400 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by services at 7 p.m.

Rabbi Steven Jacobs, Cantor Caren Glasser, director of Religious School and Youth Activities Karen Waldman and other members of the professional staff and lay leadership will be available to greet visitors, answer questions and provide a tour of the temple’s newly-renovated facilities.

Kol Tikvah is currently accepting enrollment in pre-school and religious school. Families do not have to be temple members, nor do they have to be Jewish to enroll their children in the temple’s kindergarten and pre-school programs. Full-day programs are available for working parents.

In addition to pre-school and religious school, Kol Tikvah will offer adult education courses emphasizing elements of reform Judaism, spirituality, holiday preparation and celebrating, family relationships and healthy living.

Creative musical services, family services and "Tot Shabbat" are included in their Shabbat worship.

Other temple programs include Women of Kol Tikvah (sisterhood), Men’s Club, participating in a softball league, Havurah, Bar and Bat Mitzvah preparation, "Mommy and Me," youth activities, confirmation classes and an active social program for members of all ages.

Their social hall with on-site catering facilities is available for weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations and other events.

Admission to High Holy Day services is available for non-members. For details or additional information, please call (818) 348-0670 or visit the Website at www.koltikvah.org.
