Triunfo YMCA to host recruitment nights for its family programs

Programs open for Oak Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills communities The Triunfo YMCA, serving the Agoura Hills, Oak Park and Westlake Village communities, will be accepting new registrations for its Indian Guides and Princesses, Trailblazers and Papoose programs at the following recruitment events:

From 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wed., Sept. 17 at El Pollo Loco, Oak Park;

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Sept. 20 at Albertson’s in Westlake Village;

From 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tues., Sept. 23 at Carl’s Jr., Agoura Hills; and

From 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tues., Sept. 30 at Ralph’s, Westlake Village.

The YMCA’s Indian Guides and Princesses is a program for fathers and their sons/daughters in kindergarten through second grade. New participants will be divided into small groups called Tribes that meet monthly at tribal members’ homes. Activities include camp-outs, rocket launches, pinewood derbies, bike rodeos and pancake breakfasts.

The YMCA’s Y-Trailblazers is geared for fathers/mothers and their children in the third through sixth grades. Structured similar to the Y-Indian programs, Y-Trailblazers teaches leadership and responsibility while offering events such as water rafting, horseback riding, turkey giveaways, nature hikes and rock climbing.

The Papoose program is geared for fathers/mothers and their preschool children and teaches such values as caring while offering events including camping, theatrical plays, visits to the zoo and nature hikes.
