Help give CVD a name

The theme contest for the 2004 Conejo Valley Days festival is under way. The winner, selected by the CVD committee, will ride on a float in the CVD parade and have $100 contributed to their charity of choice.

"We’re already excited about the 2004 CVD," said Ken Calcut, general chairman for 2004 CVD. "The theme is our starting point. The contest is the first in a series of community-oriented events that culminates in a five-day festival," he said.

Last year, more than 130 themes were entered, and its winner, "Under the Oak Tree in 2003," reflected the relaxed country lifestyle that signified the Conejo Valley for decades. The deadline is Oct. 30.
