Register soon for this fall’s after-school program at Lindero Canyon

The cities of Agoura Hills and Westlake Village are accepting registration for this fall’s Lindero Canyon Afterschool Enrichment Program held on the school campus at 5844 Larboard Lane, Agoura Hills.

Open to youth ages 11 through 14, the program will feature a variety of classes offered from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning the week of Mon., Sept. 29.

Classes will include babysitter-in-training, homework zone, basketball, cartooning and more.

In the cartooning class, which is offered from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 1 through Nov. 5, students will learn the basics of cartooning and character design. Class fee is $40 plus a $5 lab fee.

The babysitting class will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 2 through Nov. 6 at a cost of $48. Students will learn the skills needed to be a babysitter including safety, emergencies, discipline and behavior, games and activities and more.

Also available for youth ages 11 to 17 is the Westlake Village Afterschool Program. It will run on the same schedule and dates as the above but is held at the Westlake Village Civic Center, 31200 Oak Crest Drive, Westlake Village. Among the classes available in this program will be acting, study zone, typing and theater arts.
