Maybe we’re recalling the wrong guy

I’m really enjoying the recall election circus. You can’t help but notice how many of the front-runners are multimillionaires.

I hope that the public is not so naïve to think that these contenders are involved in this recall because of their concern for the state of California and/or the people of California. They are in it to make money. If you look at some of our last governors like Wilson, they were more wealthy when they left office than when they took office—hello!

Our problems with energy in California only became obvious when Davis became governor. It doesn’t matter that three prior governors were advised of the potential for future blackouts. It wasn’t a popular subject to spend money on energy concerns; schools, hospitals, seniors are more potential vote-getting subjects.

Now we are paying the price for a lack of foresight, and Davis is stuck in the middle.

The federal government was quick to respond to our pleas of help. Of course they were—Bush and Cheney own considerable stock in the same companies that gouged us.
