St. Maximilian to commemorate 9-11

Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church will host an ecumenical prayer service on Sun., Sept. 7 at the church, 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village, commemorating the second anniversary of the events of Sept. 11, 2001. People of all faiths are invited to attend.

From 3 to 5 p.m., speakers from many faith traditions and churches in the Conejo Valley will offer their thoughts on the global response from Sept. 11 to the present.

The ecumenical prayer service will be from 5 to 6 p.m. and will "celebrate the hope and promise of peace in poetry, song and prayer." The church asks that all planning to attend bring their own personal symbol of peace to place on the Peace Altar located on the labyrinth at St. Maximilian.
