Conejo Jewish Academy offers series about upcoming holidays

The Conejo Jewish Academy will present a series titled "Days of Awe; Days of Joy" on the subject of the upcoming Jewish holidays. The series will be presented at 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 9, 16 and 23 at the Academy, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills and at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 10, 17, 24 and Oct. 1 and 8, at Chabad of Calabasas, 4766 Park Granada, Ste. 108, Calabasas. Rabbi Yisroel Levine will teach the Agoura Hills course; Rabbi Eli Friedman the Calabasas course. No affiliation is required and there is no fee but reservations are required and may be made by calling (818) 991-0991.

The first primer will be on "Rosh Hashanah—The Coronation of the King." The second will be on "Yom Kippur—Day of Atonement and Forgiveness" and the third on "Sukkot and Simchat Torah—The Joys of Judaism."

Other classes offered by the Academy include a "Lunch ‘n’ Learn Study Group" at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Sept. 10 with Rabbi Moshe Bryski; a class in beginner’s Hebrew and a women’s roundtable Torah discussion group. Please call the Academy at the above number for more details.
