Local softball team a winner

The 12U SoCal Sliderz travel team recently finished in second place out of 44 teams in the 2003 Western Amateur Softball Association Girls "A" Fastpitch National Championship at Manteca, Calif.
Marah Krasnow was the lone team player from Thousand Oaks.
Other players are from Camarillo, Simi Valley, Sunland and the L.A. area. Marah’s team also competed in the Triple Crown World Series in Park City, Utah, where it placed fifth among 57 teams.
During one of the games, Marah was named Player of the Game for her put-outs and performance.
Collecting nine wins at ASA, the entire team contributed with a balanced offense and defense. The team’s coaching staff was led by head coach Ron DePompa and assistant coaches Kim Bishop, Mark Caplan, Jim Cancelosi and Lance Junker.
Sliderz players include: Amy Bishop, Ashley Boxley, Kali Cancelosi, Kellie Caplan, Lainey DePompa, Julie Fernandez, Alicia Junker, Marah Krasnow, Karen Lorenzo, Daniella Siordia, Elizabeth Tsipouras, Ashleigh Viers-Gordillo and JackieWilson.
