Oak Park HS student to attend summer art school
Manzi De Young
Manzi De Young, the daughter of Gypsi and Cliff De Young of Oak Park, was selected to attend the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSA), in their animation department. The young artists recommended for the CSSA-Innerspark program are designated "California Arts Scholars."
Manzi was one of the 20 artists accepted in the Ventura County area, and along with other selectees was honored in a special ceremony and awarded the Governor’s medallion.
She hopes to pursue a career as an animator and specializes in creating anthropomorphic characters, usually a cross between animals and humans. She will be a sophomore this fall at Oak Park High School.
