Vote no on recall

Recall—I don’t get it.

A couple of years ago some cronies of the administration in Washington extorted money out of each and every one of us by shutting down electrical plants and hiking the totals on our bills. In the course of this robbery, hundreds, maybe thousands, of businesses left California or simply shut up shop.

When our governor asked the federal government for help, they basically gave him the finger.

Now out of their billions of dollars, friends of the administration have financed a recall based on some really weird previously unused law.

Now Gov. Gray Davis made some mistakes—most notably, in my opinion, not asking the people of California for help when we could have all pulled together to stop the power crisis.

But now the citizens of California want to turn themselves into subjects of some latter-day Boss Tweed? This is nuts. How much will your gas/electricity/water bill be if the recall goes through? Let’s not even consider the cost to fill up your tank; the oil barons in Texas must be rubbing their hands with glee.

Hey, I can always leave; many can’t. Let’s kick these carpetbaggers out by giving the governor our support and voting no to recall.
