Naked freeway stroller arrested on various charges in Agoura Hills

A man allegedly under the influence of drugs shed all of his clothes and took a walk on the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills before being wrestled to the ground by sheriff’s deputies.

At 11 a.m. on Aug. 3, Crescentio Gamboa, a 41-year-old Granada Hills resident, was found walking naked in the middle of the westbound freeway between Kanan and Reyes Adobe roads, according to a spokesman with Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

Walking against traffic, Gamboa voluntarily approached a squad car that had arrived on the scene.

"He walked over to the patrol car, he reached inside toward the deputy and basically he tried to pull the deputy out of the police car and the deputy was hanging on to his gun," said Dep. Jon Jones.

"(The deputy) sprayed him with pepper spray, but it didn’t have much effect on him."

It took three deputies to subdue the man, Jones said.

"He was coherent, but he was just extremely high and very, very agitated. Also he was running around with no clothes on." Gamboa was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for examination, but when deputies removed his restraints, he began struggling again.

"They had to fight him in the hospital and they ended up taking him downtown to central jail," Jones said.

The man was booked on charges of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and being under the influence of drugs.

His clothes were never found.
