Amgen subleases in Thousand Oaks

In what’s reportedly Ventura County’s largest office transaction in years, the biotechnology company Amgen has signed a sublease with Intel Corp. to occupy a new, two-building 200,000 sq. ft. office complex at Conejo Spectrum in Thousand Oaks for its ongoing expansion, according to officials of Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services.

Tony Principe, executive vice president of Westlake Village-based Westcord, said Amgen signed an 8.5-year sublease for the office buildings at 2380 and 2400 Conejo Spectrum Drive. Details of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

Principe said that the Conejo Spectrum facilities are expected to accommodate Amgen’s ongoing expansion in the T.O. area. He noted that the buildings are likely to house a large portion of the operations of Immunex, another biotechnology company acquired by Amgen in December of 2001.
