Stop singing in the shower— it’s time to go on stage

The Village Voices Chorale is inviting men and women who would like to make that segue from singing in the shower to singing on stage to attend open auditions beginning Mon., Aug. 18.

The 60-voice group of men and women from throughout Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley will begin rehearsals in August for the festive "Season of Light" holiday concerts they will perform Dec. 12 and 13 in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The concerts feature a blend of classical, popular and Broadway music.

Those interested in auditioning should note that choral singing experience and good sight-reading skills are a plus.
