Golf camp at Pierce College

Los Angeles Pierce College Extension is offering a golf camp open to youth ages 10 through 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mon. through Thurs. Aug. 4 through 14 on the campus at 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills. Topics to be covered include grip, stance, swing, balance, club selection, rules and tournament play. All levels are welcome to attend and golfers will be grouped according to ability. Pro golf instructor Pete Argiriou will lead the class. The registration fee is $149.

In addition, a workshop for beginning and experienced players interested in refining their skills will be offered from 8 to 10 a.m. or 10 a.m. to noon, Saturdays or Sundays, Aug. 9 through Sept. 21. "Golf for Recreation and Fitness" will address the basics one needs to "get out on the greens." With more experienced players, instructors Pete Argiriou and Robert Koehler will help to identify and correct specific problems.
