Learn to drive with both feet
     We continue to hear of automobile accidents involving older people who either miss or confuse the brake pedal and the gas pedal. The recent event in Santa Monica simply adds to the increasing number of runaway vehicles and the tragedies they cause.

     The distance between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal in most cars is three inches. If a driver wears a 12 or 13, C-width shoe, pressure on the far right side of the brake pedal can also activate the gas pedal.
