Soccer camp is next week in Westlake

Local coaches Bill Propster and Frankie Marino will conduct soccer camps for youth ages 5 to 13 from 9 a.m. to noon, Mon. through Fri., Aug. 4 through 8 at Westlake High School, 100 N. Lakeview Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

Propster is the boys’ soccer coach at the school and Marino is the girls’ soccer coach. They will be assisted by other local high school and club coaches and by local college players.

The camp focuses on teaching fundamental skills and tactics while playing small-sided games. For the youngest participants, creative play will blend with developing basic ball skills. A different skill will be emphasized each day of the camp.

The older and more experienced participants will receive technical and tactical instruction.
