Time for your dogs to get in shape?

Calling all canines: Fido Fitness comes to Calabasas, serving the four-legged community from Calabasas to Mountain View Estates and all pups in between. More than a dog-walking service, the professional staff at Fido Fitness provides healthy, challenging and stimulating daily experiences for your dog, as well as love and care while you are away.

The American Veterinary Medicine Association recommends a minimum one-hour per day exercise for a healthy, happy dog. The more activities dogs (and especially puppies) are involved in, the more conditioned their neurological system becomes to motion, position, coordinated movement, and balance.

Founder and inspiration for Fido Fitness is Dougal (Nat’l/Int’l CH Tropico’s Bearfox Blackadder), a happy-go-lucky golden retriever. Dougal is a fixture in the community, often seen at The Commons, or nearby Costco in Westlake Village, greeting all those offering a pat on the head or a good scratch behind the ear.

Owner and fitness facilitator Catherine Cobb said, "Fido Fitness provides a great service to those in the community who hate the thought of leaving their dog home alone. We also provide Puppy Swim Safety Lessons, Pet Massage and Canine Cab Service, in a very British Mini Cooper, for those important visits to the vet or groomer."

Sessions run 40 minutes at a cost of $25 and include backyard playtime or walkies in the form of a playful power walk or senior stroll through the neighborhood.

You won’t find large group walks at Fido Fitness; the focus is on giving your dog individual attention and companionship. Book now—daily appointments are limited and expected to fill up fast.

Fido Fitness is licensed and bonded and a member of the National Association of Professional Dog Walkers. Reach Fido Fitness at (818) 871-0753.
