Local flute choir heads for Vegas
     The Conejo Valley Flute Society (CVFS) directed by Toby Caplan-Stonefield of Westlake Village has been selected to perform at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thurs., Aug. 7 at the Riviera Hotel.

Performing arts groups can now apply for grants
     The Alliance for the Arts, the official nonprofit fundraising arm of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, welcomes grant applications from presenters, performers, educators and art exhibitors seeking financial underwriting to help support their programs being presented at the Countrywide Performing Arts Center in either the Fred Kavli Theatre or Janet and Ray Scherr forum theater.
