Diana Malmquist of Westlake Village has joined United Way of Ventura County as a director of major gifts.
Malmquist has a background of fundraising, marketing and public relations and is a long-time resident of the Conejo Valley.
Her past fundraising efforts include the New West Symphony, The Wellness Community—Valley/Ventura, Stagecoach Inn Museum, California Lutheran University and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles.
Her community involvement includes being named Woman of the Year by the Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce, Citizen of the Year by the City of Westlake Village, Grand Marshal of Conejo Valley Days 1981, as well as serving on several non-profit boards.
Malmquist’s responsibilities will be to cultivate and expand support for United Way from individuals in the east portion of Ventura County.
"With its vision and resources, United Way has become instrumental in bringing the needs of the community into focus for action," said Malmquist. "Its function is no longer an organization that only collects donations to distribute to various agencies.
"United Way’s priority is to help to solve our communities’ most pressing needs. I will help bring a new awareness of United Way to the communities of Moorpark, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village."
