Get useful info from the Bar

The State Bar of California has prepared a free consumer education guide titled "Seniors and the Law: A Guide for Maturing Californians." It’s described as a comprehensive guide to the rights and responsibilities of seniors in California and provides information on how to avoid financial scams and deal with difficult landlords as well as providing basic information on Medicare, Social Security, financial planning and driving.

Also available are two other free publications, "Kids and the Law: An A-to-Z Guide for Parents" and "When You Become 18: A Survival Guide for Teenagers."

Copies may be obtained by visiting the State Bar’s Website at www.calbar.ca.gov or writing to the State Bar of California, Attn: "Seniors & the Law," 180 Howard St., San Francisco, CA 94105-1639.
