Area students win scholarships

The Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) will present scholarships totaling $118,525 to 114 outstanding local students at a reception at the Ventura County Museum of History and Art on Wed., June 4.

Among the winners are:

Newbury Park: Danit Kaya received the William A. Fairburn, Jr. and Cynthia D. Fairburn Memorial Scholarship; Jennifer Martin received the Gerhardt Family Scholarship; and Michael Sanders and Joseph Werner received the VCCF Scholarship.

Oak Park: Charles Carriere and Anne Wu received the William A. Fairburn, Jr. and Cynthia D. Fairburn Memorial Scholarship; Susannah Kopecky, Annup Patel and Zhou Zhang received the VCCF Scholarship; and Igor Tregub received the Stanley E. Cohen Memorial Scholarship.

Thousand Oaks: Katherine Barnett received the William A. Fairburn, Jr. and Cynthia D. Fairburn Memorial Scholarship; William Beaumont received the James C. Basile Scholarship; and Yina Dong received the Stanley E. Cohen Memorial Scholarship and the (Society of Military Engineers) SAME Scholarship.

Westlake Village: Ronald Seese received the Gary W. Chism Memorial Scholarship and Chalmers Wang received the William A. Fairburn, Jr. and Cynthia D. Fairburn Memorial Scholarship.
