‘Olde World’ coming to LCMS soon

Lindero Canyon Middle School’s seventh-graders will turn back the clock for the school’s 18th Annual Olde World Faire on Fri., May 16. The traditions of bartering and handcrafting goods will come back to life. English florists will prepare medieval wreathes, African tribesmen will be bartering masks, and other characters of long ago will fashion their goods for demonstrating and trading.

Seventh-grade social science teachers work with students to develop an understanding of the social, historic and economic features of the Olde World.

Ultimately, students create booths and artifacts from their time period and dress in traditional costumes. Students will be divided into groups to create 80 to 100 displays covering a wide range of ancient civilizations. The day of the Faire visitors can go back in time to pre-Columbian America, Japan, China, India, Medieval Europe and the Renaissance.

The community is encouraged to participate in this journey back in time and may visit the Faire from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
