Agoura High student sings in spring gala

Rachel E. Rivas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rivas of Agoura Hills, was part of the 30th annual Spring Sing gala at Harding University in April.

The all-student revue, featuring 750 university students, is an event of the annual Youth Forum, when more than 2,000 teenagers from across the nation gather on the Searcy campus for a full schedule of activities. The theme of this year’s production was "Reel Music," which celebrated cinema.

Spring Sing was started in 1974 by students as a small-scale musical showcase for campus guests. The shows are judged for originality, costume, choreography and music, and cash awards and plaques are presented following the show.

Rivas, a freshman majoring in nursing, attended Agoura High School.
