Former middle school principal pleads guilty

The former Oaks Christian middle school principal who pleaded guilty to child molestation charges faces an additional 16 years in prison, authorities said.

Jonathan Andreas, 36, pleaded guilty to eight felony counts in March.

The sentence handed down in Ventura County Court will be added to a 12-year sentence Andreas received in February for similar charges in Los Angeles County.

"He’ll do 85 percent of the time and then he’ll be eligible for parole," said Lisa Lyytikainen, Ventura County senior deputy district attorney.

Lyytikainen said Andreas will serve at least 23 of the 28 years.

Authorities arrested Andreas in July 2002 for felony lewd conduct in connection with the molestation of a 13-year-old Oaks Christian girl. Investigators said Andreas had become a friend of the girl’s family through various school functions, but that the acts occurred off campus, most likely at a private residence.

Andreas had worked at the Westlake Village middle school for almost two years until his arrest.

The victims in Los Angeles County were two young females whom Andreas met while working at a private Christian school in Pacific Palisades, authorities said.

The crimes in Los Angeles County took place during 2000 and in Ventura County during 2002.

The sentences will be served consecutively.

When released from prison, Andreas must register as a lifetime sex offender, authorities said.
