Woman earns Zonta Club Award

Clarissa Heger of Westlake Village has been selected as winner of the 2003 Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area’s Young Women in Public Affairs Award. She’ll receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The goal of this program is to recognize pre-university or pre-college women students’ commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to the advancement of the status of women.

Award applicants were asked to reflect on their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in the community or in a specific prospective career.

According to the club, Heger intends to pursue her interests in improving the status of women worldwide and human rights in general.
